Okay folks, Prime Day is over, Black Friday is around the corner, but that doesn't mean the deals are over.

Amazon has already followed the Tuesday/Wednesday Prime Day with its "Holiday Dash" promotion, promising continued great deals and other retailers haven't been shy about pitching promotions either.

Apple's 'iPad Mini' kicked off January 4th by selling for a whopping $398.56. The same day, Microsoft launched their 'Black Friday Deals' initiative, spanning all sorts of products, but clearly focusing on the 3rd Party tablet space. Now we have 'GURU TV Remote' as well, offering the basic simplicity of the 'Xbox 360' but with a customizable controller.

No word on when the 'GURU TV Remote' comes to market, but we wouldn't expect the same textured side buttons that Apple and Microsoft feature.

About Google TV

A Google hardware device in January, or a Google Chrome, is here to serve you for the foreseeable future.

Torsten Morgan, Senior Vice President of Google's Consumer Products Team, told SlashGear the following addressing the popularity of Google TV:

We believe there's a role for some device at the heart of your home entertainment setup, so we'll continue to make sure they're integrated with the rest of the Google ecosystem. Every Google device has always been available through a growing stable of TVs, consumer electronics, speakers and other accessories. At the same time, Google TV is great at connecting a dozen or so devices into your media ecosystem and is also great for making a great first impression with your friends. I'm excited to see how developers will build scalable applications that take advantage of this new plugin technology.

More After. View the rest of the press release after the breaking news, this time including the price and affiliation. Until next time, making the switch to a lesser device is always worth it. Whatever device you decide to throw up tha next bastin' profit on it, make sure that it's one that's well equipped. Thanks to Google TV for bringing an efficient, multimedia-centric and the top performing platform to the market.
