When life hands you the plague, turn it into self-promotion?

A publicist for oil heir and actor Balthazar Getty pitched Page Six a sickly story, stating that back in February, Getty “had COVID-19 after leaving Milan for fashion week with French luxury designer Moncler.

For those not in the know, COVID is a disfiguring form of meningitis, which the CDC says is associated with high/mild viral loads, pneumonia, meningitis, and meningitis-like illnesses such as encephalitis, encephalomyelitis, meningitis(myalgic encephalomyelitis), and meningoencephalitis.

James Benson, page editor at Page Six, relayed the superintendent of Jackie Kennedy's Miami Homestead Hospital source: "Balthazar Getty left Milan on February 11th and his assistant called the hospital. Within an hour it was confirmed that [Balthazar] had it. When he landed [after the trip] he was hospitalized and he had no brain activity. He was dehydrated, but maintained consciousness. [He was] being treated for pneumonia and they sent him to Washington at 1 p.m. [He would] be released on Saturday at Kennedy."

Benson continued: "The hospital official said that at no time did Balthazar mention any variety of cuts, or wounds, white blood cells [production] was low, adrenal [production] was low. At one point in the hospital he just said he 'felt nice' and wasn't worried about anything. Uncle Sam paid Balthazar's medical bills for a year without a dime. He has a case management in place for the seriously ill, a health plan. He's at home, resting and drinking lots of water. They're gonna wait to see how he's doing."

While Getty is the 4th DNA cast member to be diagnosed with the virus—Jamie Kennedy, her son Alexander, Marc Anthony, Dina Lohan, and Rodarte co-star—there was scary news for Maria Grazia Chiuri, Alicia Silverstone, Heather Dubrow, and Alexis Bledel.
