All Mojang games will, actually

You're going to be blocked from playing Minecraft if you don't add some security to your account. Minecraft's owner has mandated that a Microsoft account is required for all of Mojang's games. The Minecraft roster will be very limited in the future, as they want to only release "historical," and non-game specific, information on their site. This will all come to an end early next year and Minecraft will be only "Nordic based." You can't download Minecraft anymore, you'll have to buy the game every so often, and Mojang has no plans to update it any more. The community will continue to play Minecraft map updates to keep the community growing. You can't use any game servers in Minecraft again, and if it detects a game server, it will buff it to over-speed. The passwords for other servers can take half a minute to generate, which will force people to choose a strong password. Tortally a careersding regularly names the username on a server is close to impossible to use.

The Mojang name will die

One of the now-irrelevant axioms of online multiplayer games is that it is all about community; that if people find something they like to play then that is a good thing, never a bad thing. This is, of course, huge in Minecraft. You can use your Minecraft player name (which you're required to choose) but you must come up with a unique one every time you log in for the next 23 years . Mojang does not expect to be around forever, and in fact they have made the decision, after 12+ years, to publish the source code for their plugin code , the source code for their service and the source code to Minecraft as one huge library, on GitHub. Mojang is not opening source Minecraft and/or you need to accept this now.

Next date I guess will be April 2016. So if you can't wait for the name change then enjoy (and Share!) the world of Minecraft!
