Ghost Ship Games has announced the first major post-launch Deep Rock Galactic update, and it includes two new mission types: Escort Duty and On-site Refining.
Escort Duty has players in a "heavily combat-focused mission" where players will have to find the Ommoran Heartstone with a Drilldozer that has to make it through the Ommoran. Once it does, it washes up on a cave asteroid below. Your job as an escort is to keep the Eki ship from being "pushed back into the Ommoran by an Eki ship".
Finally, there's On-site Refining, a type of mission where the player must take a larger body of water to a location where the player and their loyalty mission leader (represented by the Visiting Ship found in the UI system) has to mark some Eki crystals with a Mortar. Once it is done, the Eki ship will repair the starbase.
These three new mission types are actually a subset of a larger now-pre-launched update to The Deep Rock Galactic (DGR) Game Mode. V1.3.0.4701 (i.e. 1.3.0.47, definitely 0.47.0.0) includes tweaks, fixes, and all the new tweaks added to the map with the DGR Game Mode Update over the past month.
The update adds New ship classes (Omnispheria), four new missions types, a new game type called group Time Challenges called Heroism Waves, Five new members to the Mercenary Alliance, Varelsi cultural language enhancements, reskins, and much more in total. We've been playing through a basic version of the mission types (will post more on them as we go) and these new additions look promising.
