Online media content is a massive industry that generates countless dollars. From the likes of YouTube to streaming services such as Twitch, individuals can not only create their own content but become fans of others’ work online. However, what is completely overlooked is that the cloud-based services that many people utilize to host their beloved content can be the worst place it can exist. Doing the due diligence of doing a site just right and making sure to take all the necessary steps to ensure that shit is hosted and watched correctly is an important thing to do. However, DMCA style lawsuits can come with such unpredictable intent that these steps can be set back or simply dismissed altogether. Information similar to this was brought about by advertiser launched YouTube lawsuits against YouTubers who have mocked and parodied various Youtube overlords, unfairly causing advertisements to be dropped. This situation is further exacerbated by its very own laws stating that nothing can be posted online that is against the aforementioned company.

To increase exposure of this situation, a deluge of DMCA notices were sent by 'name and shame' website TorrentFreak back when these lawsuits were launched. However, a few days later, they were slashed from a spam reputation and resurfaced once again. Since the nature of the accusations could not be likely, the video creators behind the account were given the go ahead to be sued by mega company Twitch but were told that without a legitimate independent legacy, the video was removed.

Despite being asked by Twitch what we could do to verify the authenticity of the account and are instructed to remove the account from our system, YouTube responded back to us stating that we were "bound to trust Twitch", we were "to indicate on our account settings page that Twitch is our YouTube partner and will not be monetizing or re-promoting any YouTube content."

4.

We are exercising our right to freedom of expression that we are suitable to member Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and Twitch and we block them accordingly."
