LG and entertainment goliath Disney are teaming up for a three-year OLED TV deal. It will see LG provide Disney's technological storytelling arm StudioLAB with the "latest advancements in OLED technology" in order to create new experiences around the release of new Disney films.

The deal prevents LG from developing its OLED TV technology itself, but is more likely an attempt to acquire more OLED production facilities for its next-generation OLED TVs. LG is marketing its TVs as "the cutting-edge" and "the next generation" of OLED screens.

"Beauty and design combined with unparalleled color certainty are the programming gifts for audiences this holiday season," Imminent CEO of Disney Consumer Products Kirill Julin said.

The 20-inch z60C series in the deal comes equipped with a Sleek 21:9 (QHD 4K UHD and Ultra HD resolutions) OLED screen. Apple is rumored to be working on 4K versions of the iPhone 6 range to match the upgraded firmware, with potential plans to release 4K versions of its Apple TV (4th generation certified) in the future, and beyond! Apple recently announced the newest Apple TV, the 4k set-top box releases in November via SIM-free vehicle compatible January 2015 model. The offer says the LG model will be available in the US will be a 4K High-Definition display up to 60 Hz and up to 80 hours of battery life. But the offer is limited to certain concessions such as matched languages.

LG OLED TV is so huge that it's as tall as Steve Jobs.

StudioLAB is a division of Walt Disney Studios. For Disney the deal provides "incredible programming that will redefine the expectations of what fans will want to watch come January," ILPF chairman and CEO Claude J Trotsky said. "The combination of benefits of having the best OLED TVs and having great interactive programs from Disney on a truly transformative level, will not be available to consumers, industry students and end users alike in the U.S. Today that is not going to be the case, and we're excited for that and have the utmost respect for Disney."

The deal includes delivery of an LG ff11 OLED television to DeepMind El Segundo in California for analyses, demonstrations to demonstrate the performance and customer acceptance, and artist demonstrations for content licensing and live and on-demand presentations. The estimated value of the series is $8,000. Apple TV, Samsung TV, Sony PlayStation Network and Google Chromecast are not included or covered by the 360 billion LG project.
