Pokemon Sword and Shield's The Crown Tundra DLC is now available on Nintendo Switch, and it brings back a number of Pokemon that were previously missing from the Galar region, including Jynx. In an interesting move, when players spot the Ice/Psychic-type Pokemon in the wild and whistle at her, Jynx will respond by blowing a loving kiss towards the player. Not surprisingly, people with mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder (BPD) are angered by Nintendo's inclusion.

The Sword and Shield YouTube channel encouraged fans to contact the Oregon-based development studio, saying the company "has clearly adapted a controversial concept to suit their audience. It's an elementary concept, based on the societal messaging about bisexuality and how you function in a romantic relationship that makes it offensive to sensitive, disturbed children at its core. Who are they catering to? How does this appeal to social conservatives? So many questions since we will have to face them with these choices."

On its website, the developer explains that the reasoning behind its move is to "provide a fun, balanced and safe environment for players" that "may be pushed to video games for distraction purposes, but that's not what this community is for. Supporting the mental health of persons with mental illness isn't a gimmick or a joke. It's about doing the right thing and empowering those who suffer or are challenged and encouraging them to keep pushing forward and move forward with their lives."

Ouch. Browse through the compilation footage below and decide for yourself whether or not these video game characters have your feelings, mind, or blood boiling, and remember about Jynx if only for a second or two.

Clear the oven to 350 degrees F.

Massage the side and middle of the potatoes (with the blunt side of a vegetable peeler)—the potatoes should fold and adhere. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Transfer to the oven, move to the middle rack, and roast until golden, 20 to 30 minutes. Using a potato masher or potato masher attachment, mash a few in each tautened potato to foist into the potatoes. Transfer to a medium bowl and mash another few in, making sure the potatoes fully submerge. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir to combine. Transfer to a cutting board. Cut into wedges. Place into a large bowl (you will need lots!) and gently toss with a fork to combine. Enjoy!
