Today, NetherRealm Studios and WB Games revealed a new Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Kast focused on Rambo, revealing our first look at the upcoming DLC character and his gameplay. Pouring over this gameplay, fans have noticed Rambo comes packing an attack that pays homage to the first Rambo movie, First Blood. We presented the thought process behind this idea in a previous article titled Mortal Kombat: Evolution – The First Blood Theory. By returning to the First Blood playbook (and the events leading up to the Original First Blood) Rambo is able to take hostages, hijack vehicles, and damage armored vehicles. It is we, the fans who should be filling in the blanks. With a solid plot and a gaming community that continues to be supportive, it is expected that someone revealed how the First Blood sequel would be separated. Meanwhile, Mortal Kombat producer Ed Boon claims that the threads of originally thought up by NetherRealm Studios are one of the game's best features. Regarding the extended story concerning the First Blood characters, Boon said, "The lore is exciting and why they want to have it in the game; it feels like you manage it. We certainly don't want that artifice, those scenes transition to certain scenes." [Emphasis Added]. Adding, "We don't want the story to be affected by the gameplay so the players need to think about the film." With that said, players look forward to not only playing as original author on the First Blood, but also using the characters in the forthcoming DLC.
