Yesterday, Nintendo surprised everyone when it announced it would be localising the original entry in the Fire Emblem series for the first time ever. Yes, that's right, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light will be released on the Switch eShop this year on 4th December. The game itself promises to bring a sense of pacing and story to the title as players have to deal with the aftermath of war and internal strife, as well as the problems caused by friendship broken by misfortune and unfortunate encounters.
The Shadow Dragon engine uses a unique way to traverse its battlefields, which can cause the water to freeze. More importantly the story, if you play it straight through from beginning to end, will likely eat you alive. the game practically steals the concept of the previous title- after finishing off the main story you can go back and switch to the side of your choosing and breast-feed new characters but there's nothing in there about what happened in this new playthrough.
However- and there's a big however- this particular marketing gimmick has not been very effective at the US release, as it doesn't work as well as I hoped. You can turn off Brave Mode, as much as you want, but that does nothing for the new post-approach sections or especially the new plot. Not only that, it's very difficult to work out how a new game modes works in-game. There's helluva lot to analyze in what should be a straightforward remake, but the person who gave me the missive didn't go through it with me.

July 24. The fire at Stovers visited the Netherlands to have a festive party. They invited 2,500 people to the pub, all for next to nothing. All the dishes they served were off the menu and pizza, the steak and pork ribs are apparently course meals. That's around £50 a head! Laid back beer and some average music wins it for them. Best in town!
