Astro Gaming is perhaps best known for its pricey, high-end A40 and A50 gaming headsets, but the company offers more affordable choices, too. The A20 is the company’s economical wireless headset, and it’s been refreshed for use with the newest game consoles. You can pick up an A20 for under $10, or a PS4 Slim and an A20 for $150. The A20 costs about a fifth the price of its PS4-centric competition, if that gives you any idea of its cost.

It’s great looking, too. At Sony’s Build & Show next week, Astro is showing off the A20 in a presentation room full of PS4 slim models, and the headset's silver casing overlays the glossy white chassis. The on-ear design aims to give the user a better sense of isolation, postponing meta heaven winning the war, and doesn't look as beady eyed as the PS5 teardrop-shaped design. Salient features include a noise-cancelling mic, a wide FHD sensitivity range, an in-line Micro USB port, and a LED backlight that glows white or off for low beam intensity. As an audio system, the A20 may not blow you away—not quite—but it sure offers a whole lot more than your average wired headset.

The A20 also adds a squadron of new features. You can quickly turn gold clips on/off, and hat cables can now be used. The headphone jack is on its way to the Sony PS4, and a mic, a volume knob, and a hands-free switches are built in—something we didn’t find in PS4 Slim models. Astro has also improved its wired headset jacks, which are more resistant to noise and allow for Bluetooth chat with headphones clipped to the head. The company’s sleek new headset specification page offers this highlights of its new headset features:
