Although Huawei has been blacklisted in the U.S. in recent years, the Chinese smartphone maker has a strong administrative base headquartered in the Middle East and, increasingly, has been embroiled in conflicts with third parties it does business with in major economies. According to IDC, annual revenue reached RMB39.9 billion (US$6.4 billion) in 2013, up from RMB20.5 billion (US$3.6 billion) in 2008.

Previously, manufacturers including Motorola and HTC have suspended production due to Chinese government pressure and there are reports this summer that Samsung might do likewise.

Huawei "One X"

Meizu MX 3

Mithia X5

Huawei DH60

Huawei X20

Huawei Tab 7.9

Huawei Honor 7

Huawei Mi 4i

This isn't to say that nothing will come of the boycott. But if you can upgrade, especially on price, chances are you already have, with Huawei announcing it sold over 350 million smartphones in Q1 2014 alone.
