The team behind Fallout 76 has reaffirmed their commitment to official mod support in a panel during QuakeCon's broadcast to the Netherlands. When asked about the possibility of mod support in a Q&A, Fallout 76 project lead Jeff Gardiner said "We are definitely still working on mod support, it's coming. Perhaps here at Vegas that might actually be seen."

Elsewhere in the Q&A, Fallout 76's creative lead Arthur Parsons showed off the engine used in the game, which is live under the name Benny's Immersion Mod: "Look!" he told the audience.

Benny's Immersion Mod supports up to four different rooms and nested Level Factions, as well as up to sixteen NPCs. At some point next year, or perhaps even soon after, it hopes to support modding on consoles.

What has disappointed and surprised me about the Fallout series in recent years has been Bethesda's fractious attitude—especially toward modding—but if Fallout 76 finds a good community is able to press the hardware to its limits, I'm predicting we'll see a good modding scene emerge.

As Paganini mentioned, the modding scene started small with the TES IV mods. It grew as word spread and even became an accessibility issue. However, since then, Bethesda made a point of keeping the forum people away from the major updates so as not to hurt their own sales; I'm guessing that fallout 76 will follow the trend.

Certainly graphics mods are welcome for it gives Fallout 76 the full Fallout experience. Late last month DiRT began adding mods such as Frosted and Pineapples as part of its workshop. As Paganini pointed out, it's a rough time for modding.

Team4 has modified the TES engine to support mods. Their approach has appealed to Mojang and Valve, perhaps for its portability, although that's hard to recommend on console. The decision to require mods to be submitted through Steam's Workshop was also a Lucky's Tale gameplay limitation and please you, by generating a DMCA exemption.

Middle-earth: Shadow Fall will include far more mods and add-ons than Game of the Year Edition. Mod manager Neowiz showed off its own mod called Tokyokage, using this guide, and spoke about how its popularity will increase. Part of Shadow Fall will support mods and expand on all these in greater detail in the game's upcoming half-year post-release content update.

Thanks to the Courageous Gamer who performed so valiantly in rebutting a bunch of drunk douchebags who booed their Foo Fighters documentary in our Twitch chat:

The actor has also taken a lot of criticism for supporting President Obama in 2008 (despite having a cartoon character named Gio with a "Black Power" fist in an oddly separate episode
