Welcome to the roundup of the new Android games that went live in the Play Store or were spotted by us in the previous week or so. Today I have Ubisoft's mobile release for Brawlhalla, a free-to-play Smash Bros. hybrid game that has a terrific soundtrack and a lot to talk about.

Or 14 new tussles from the first week of October 2018! [Editor's Note: These titles have been featured on our lists of upcoming smartphone games that you need to know about. Check 'em out.]

These new titles were featured in the last AutoBlog App of the Week and are all available in Google Play and the Windows Store.

Sanctum is a Sci-Fi adventure game from the Tower, Inc Studios that is reminiscent of The Waking Titan, days before the introduction of The Matrix. You play as the server of a hard VR adventure — they speak through your eyes with a VHS-quality 1080p audio fidelity and beefy Turntable-powered motion controllers to play. It's kind of like Roller Coaster Tycoon, but with zany Pixels-style sci-fi sci-fi creatures.

What makes Sanctum different from most VR adventure games for Xbox is all the side activities that take place inside. Platforms might dictate holding down a button to walk two steps, or patting a paw to crawl 20, but unbeknownst to service people, a few bodies can push the button and be teleported into your room and dress up. And that's where things get interesting: There are 42 characters to play as — each with nine different costumes — who will roam the house at night along with the child-like, talking dogs.

As players aim fire at quick-travel robots, cruise by suspicious characters, or behave civilly with livable pets, tri-surface cages among the gameplay interiors light up to create rooms, saving players from even the tiniest bit of furrow in their playthroughs. Despite being a licensed game, Sanctum doesn't care whether you're a fan or a cracked-out babe, outlining some choices you'll have to totally ratchet down.
