The Twin Peaks chain has been hit with a federal lawsuit by 34 former 'breastaurant' employees claiming sexual harassment, multiple forms of discrimination and the 'sexual exploitation of young women'.
The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the US District Court for Northern District of Illinois, seeks a jury trial while also claiming that the restaurant chain is 'run very much like a commercial sex ring, torn from a pimp's playbook. When women wear lingerie, they are 'used like commodities.'
The lawsuit stated that within the lingerie dressing area, male waiters would ask female co- waiters, 'Where's the big one?.' at events for which they were being paid. Other violations included male servers 'using girls' breasts to pick up customers.'
One worker alleged that employees routinely wore lingerie on the job ('It was just not uncommon to see girls wearing robes for different events during weeknights that had maid outfits as the main pieces'), and, when their 'clothes were on, torsos were often exposed' on tables.
Messages sent to Twin Peaks sought comment. Sprinkle News reported that the restaurant has only been in business since the early 1990s and is now run by Andrew Joffe . Joffe also ran the Wu-Tang Grill .
