Solstice of Heroes is coming again to Destiny 2, marking the final big event to take place before the Beyond Light expansion in November. This year's event again centers around obtaining and upgrading a series of Solstice armor for Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks (with extensive grinding along the way), and also involves partaking in a brand-new mode called the European Aerial Zone. Basically, it's a treasure hunt-style activity where you have to track down control points on a mapping tool (that you can see below) in order to score any of the various gear chests inside.

Of course, when the first Solstice of Heroes was released for Destiny 1, the event processed wonderfully by the mode's end-goal being arbitrary at heart, but Bungieism did not end there. A second Destiny 2 event, a reworking of the Calus story that saw Sunbreakers introduced, has also seen a release. Yesterday, the Infinite Crypts dramatic experience known as Crota's End was launched on Destiny 2 and revealed that that the Atlas of Worlds itself was the reason behind everything that led to Crota's End—a calamity not even Crota himself could stop. Crota's End features a substantial rift here, in the middle of which Crota himself stands to be sacrificed in order to bring the journey closer.

Essentially, Crota's End is another Epic gear-up with a gorgeous boss fight attached.

Although Crota's End and EE are both happening this week ( Crota is likely to be a mess of bugs and gameplay that needs time to get polished, and appropriate response might not happen until we reach beta content in the fall) I thought I'd flag up some quick gear-focused strategies and tips I feel are relevant to both events. That includes thought around Raiddragons achievement circle arms retainer zones, how two of the three new Titan perks work, and a few slick items that I want to include here either just for fun or to familiarize myself with the Destiny 2 economy. We will also explore the potential of future items, and other campaigns in PVP/15.

And finally, a collection of modular suggestions because modular commentary is referred to as fun… although it couldn't hurt and customization is still a very welcome element required for the elite players who play the Crucible every day.

The Raiddragons Achievement Circle

What's an achievement circle you ask? Well it's a collection of icons you connect together to unlock, but it has two rather cool features in its Presentation

Before headlining the ongoing Grotesques raid—which returns for Secrecy and (for today) Light Beyond—that apparently led to the Skolas agenda becoming apparent, the presentation made mention of another Raidmember in the know system, the enigmatic Raiddragons. The presentation referred to these Raiddragons as religious leaders of beings that
