New Delhi: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has discovered eight stone doorways and a large well in a building on the imposing late-ninth-century walled city wall near Bijnor in 0403 A.D in the state of Puducherry, about 88 kms east of Chennai.. These upper mill levels in southern India are the oldest levels of any medieval city anywhere in the world, said the ASI.
The ASI and some such citizens of Puducherry met on 17 January 2017, and along with The Hindu newspaper an information leaflet was issued which contained photographs of what may be remarkable artefacts
