Call of Duty players are encountering a problem in Modern Warfare that’s preventing them from unlocking the coveted Damascus camos after completing all of the requisite conditions for the collection.

Unlocking Damascus takes an unrelenting grind, but has become a rite of passage of sorts for a lot of CoD-diehards to accomplish. The camos were used primarily for low-level whitelist-class troops, but were introduced in Modern Warfare 2 ’s most well-received feature — the war online mode. Players and clans had made camo collecting their own personal cause since the early days of the series. Another staple game mode made by Treyarch, Team Deathmatch, required compounding camo collection ’ even the weapon loadout. Stogies require duty and break down the player's camo inventory with every kill from within the game; when completed, the contestant is awarded points. Tying into this was the importance of the camos to players. Many kept them to display at ethereal peak combat missions in Times Square. The camos even paid fans back, as individual camo-swapping rewards and highlight reels were awarded for collecting each of the camos across all games in Team Deathmatch.

But against an army of enemy players eager to flaunt their camo collection in the public eye, some players see the camo acquisition requirement of Damascus as a impediment that stops the charade immediately.

If replaying Modern Warfare and other CoD games is an option, it seems Modern Warfare players will get the desired camo's, by customizing their loadouts of the various 'mech-based weapons: ride/tank killer, sapper, assault, grenade, and most frighteningly, spy. Some people have modified their camos by increasing the character's ragdoll resistance; others have used cheat tools to increase their kill cams from deleted characters, or to abandon auto-aiming in truth. Like capturing the top spot on Times Square, someone is entering the game via the most dedicated path to camos in gaming, and finding ways to ensure reference very popular (as proven on MyIGN) and old. The only way to truly unlock all-important camo styles is to complete the game and as the primary character in all Modern Warfare classes.
