The Pixel 3A and 3A XL weren't necessarily updates to the existing Pixel 3. Rather the two phones were an expansion Google made to appeal to a wider audience with more affordable handsets (just like the new Pixel 4A and recently discontinued Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL). For the new Pixel XL, Google essentially released the smaller sibling of the 3 to appeal to fans of the larger version that had and continues to have a large following.

Google is unlikely to release any more phone this year and content regarding other potential Nexus phones is sealed tight. In fact, the only phrase I can think of is that Google will release fewer Pixel devices this year than last, but Google hasn't been unified in terms of its plans for future software and device updates. With Pixel 2, Google removed China from the frame as being sold out of stock. It is unclear whether this meant future models will be sold out of stock as well.

Verizon leaks

There seems to be a bit of confusion over the Verizon/Pixel 2 Pro Pixel 2 phones, because while Verizon has officially said these are limited edition devices, they appear to be sold out at local Google Store locations.

Verizon is selling the iPhone X Edition of the phone, but it hasn't explained exactly what comes with the phone. Anyone who wishes to buy a Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL from Verizon must purchase one of these two models.

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL pricing details are still in flux. According to confirming sources, the 2013 Google Pixel was going for maybe $650 and the 2016 Pixel 2 at $850 on contract. It's likely Google will announce upfront pricing for both the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL first so retailers like Target don't have to make an initial pricing decision and offer discounts.

As a reminder, the Pixel phones use Motorola's proprietary "masq" form factor, and not the familiar circular bumps on Apple's iOS devices. It's likely to carry a higher price than the current generation of HTC smartphones and will probably be sold for $650 with cellular service. The specs for the Google phone haven't leaked from Verizon yet.

Verizon/Pixel phones are sold out at many of its stores around the country, although the chain has indicated getting it to bulk orders will take precedence.
