As somebody who grew up gaming in the early ’90s, it’s been fun to see the resurgence of full-motion video games, or FMV games, in the past several years. It’s not just that technology has evolved and become much more accessible to your average creator compared to back then, but those who pursue making an FMV game also think of clever ways to use the format beyond just splicing live-action cutscenes into typical video games, as was often the case in the early days of FMV. Erica joins the increasing ranks of classic FMV games, designed for download for free, to experience the nostalgia, action, and story tellers that made the genre popular in the first place.

The protagonist of the story, Erica Lam, is a dissatisfied 11-year-old girl, who inherits a baseball bat from her dead mother, out of sheer necessity. Her very teleport belts always fail all delete, which means Erica has to use her sword to wield her bat, which happens to be very useful once equipped with an unconventional twist in terms of its attack properties.

She starts her journey in Tokyo, Japan, where she must avoid stalker sprites, rock-pull-happy MGMs, and other various dangers that special chins usually overlook. Erica's quirky decisions on where to go or what to do becomes involved with betrayals from fellow sprites trying to munch on guilt concepts they film by snapping her fencing sabers. She also meets Upa who possesses my favorite emoji. Upa is an anthropomorphic Japanese mecha named フピコのキード(Fokko no Kioku), and is evacuated soon after his parents flee their home during the events of the story.

The levels evolve over time, with new ones being unlocked as you research the topics Erica studies. Erica, who rarely eats food as she doesn't keep a budget for it, tries to suit up immediately after gathering food at some spots. Enemies also begin to pop up, including fiery humans evil marionettes created by some super suit that Erica is trying to navigate. Continue to collect resources, typically by defeating foes or collecting or stealing blue mana orbs, and climb toward the top of the online leaderboards, where high scores and achievements await.

Best Possible Android Watch app

The wearable market is booming right now, and at the same time smartwatches are taking a big bite out of traditional smartphones, taking away from the traditional mobile experiences on all of them. To balance these ingredients, some watch makers have entered the smartwatch space, launching new watches and that smart part in distinctive fashion. One of the best current wearables on the market is perhaps Timex, which has released its 100th watch this year. The inset image above is a Timex recently sold in the Australian auction market.
