EUROPLAN, April 14 (Reuters) - Technology firm Displaytech Group Holdings SGD.N said it would buy broadcast group Korea Media Investment & Securities Corp, making the Korean group state-owned more than three years after it closed its South Korean assets to get out of the flagship television business.
Investment & Securities and Displaytech had previously signed a memorandum of understanding which saw the firms come together to strengthen how the Korea Media Investment & Securities sector operated.
Displaytech said on Friday it would invest $850 million after the South Korean group completed a lower court ruling on a proposed by the possible IPO of South Korea's broadcasting assets.
According to the court's ruling, which cannot be appealed, the possible sale could be accepted if Seoul Media Investment & Securities complied with most of the following conditions:

[EMB] 12/05/2016 - South Korea Media Investment & Securities Corporation, through registration with secretary of government, forms state-owned broadcasting organization CyberMart which will be sold to the public - investment costs is 17.32 million $
STA negotiated and closed its acquisition of Korea Media Investment & Securities Corp and its South Korean asset on April 28, 2015, giving the Korean state-owned TV station YTN ownership of 18 broadcast networks including the well-known cable network YTN.
