Within the past day, a new report emerged that detailed some of the development history of Cyberpunk 2077 leading up to its launch last month. The article accumulated information from around 20 different sources at developer CD Projekt Red, most of whom decided to stay anonymous.

The most important disclosures made in the report specify that during Cyberpunk 2077's development, the Canada based studio was criticized by fans for a lack of development resources following Alex that left little room to move the six-year production forward. This disappointment prompted a lack of collaboration between the team at CD Projekt Red and the fans, who argued that the games visuals should "be improved by proper development resources."

Since then, it has been clear that the studio is taking criticism of the developers in stride and implementing firewalls into the processes of updates for the game. Both the most recent expansion to the game, Dead Money, and the 2016 update, The Evil Within 2 come months following the release of Fallout 4 and the release of The Witcher 3, the publisher notes.

This official response to fan criticism on social media refutes the claims in the website that were produced this week. They ran in two versions, adding a disclaimer that stated, "CD Projekt RED Refutes Allegations About Crowdfunding Darkwood's Development". The developer responded to the accusations they made in the print edition of CWSMag.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, and Xbox 360, as well as on PC for Linux and Mac. The game is available to preorder. The PC version received light support from the developer as it was launched in an unfinished state, but all future patches come exclusively from the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions.

We may not have much to show for history, but we'd have a great time fighting it.
