YouTube has started testing a new feature where users will be able to buy featured products in YouTube videos directly from the platform. This is in line with a Bloomberg report of October last year which revealed that the move is aimed at converting “YouTube’s bounty of videos into a vast catalog of items that viewers can peruse, click on and buy directly”.

The new feature is currently available for developers and mobile users who upload videos to YouTube. Users can access the feature from a settings logo in certain videos on the platform.

The feature is currently limited to developers and advertisers and won't be accessible for part of the day for video creators.

In a statement that neatly sums up his determination to prove the existence of water on Mars, Russian scientist Vedomosti reported today that all of several studies conducted by scientists investigating the color and texture of Mars have been successful:

"We have found out that green color related to modern day Mars was recognized by planetary scientists a long time ago but that some models disagree, so now we are hoping to find the patent that would let us redistribute this scientific US$3000."

This had been in the works for a long time.

The matter had also been considered in 2005.

Back in 2001, a study by Sputnik Magazine and ABC Science suggested that the colors of martian soils were determined to be different from those of Earth's, but that there was an obvious reasons why:

"Currently it is known that dry martian soils appear a dark brown due to a combination of slow mixing, a different basic mineralogy or presence of another type of soil on the surface of martian volatiles (acidic acidic slurries with high molecular weight of carbon, hydrogen or nitrogen and relatively low molecular weight of silicates). It is widely believed that the basic coloration of martian soils derives from water, which alterations may have occurred on the windward side of the planet or possibly by continuous evaporation of water at high altitudes (Volkov, 2006)."

But in January 2015, NASA had to choose between keeping its Mars explorers ignorant of this information or having to clear up a potential rumor of war that was becoming all too much:

The Martians weren't green, they
