Within the past day, a new report emerged that detailed some of the development history of Cyberpunk 2077 leading up to its launch last month. The article accumulated information from around 20 different sources at developer CD Projekt Red, most of whom decided to stay anonymous.

Two key figures in the research team were Brandon Koretzky and Andrew Prokhorov, both formerly of developer Irrational Games. They earned their stripes on Fable Legends and BioShock Infinite respectively—active, cackling posters of the series on social media.

Koretzky explains that live-action sketch comedian DoctorKiwi.us doesn't represent a mere mistake, but rather the result of extra effort hosting events for the Fable franchise. "While there is light history and sketch... DoctorKiwi.us was briefly almost a definite Fable Legends story before even properly hiring the creators of Fable Legends as staff."

Asked why other outlets weren't consistently reporting this information, Koretzky said, "Scott Benson (apparently) hasn't been called on Twitter yet to justify live-action gag trolling. The rest of us are just keeping you up to date with developing world and community announcements for the Cyberpunk 2077 series."

The snowball started in earnest soon after Cyberpunk 2077'd delayed after its launch, and continues to this day (Gamasutra reports that five players managed to complete this first chapter in the [Unstyled Quests) series.

Devs had been already thinking about story development behind closed doors when "early concept art," generators, set illustrations and goal illustrations were posted. "In a very roundabout manner," reported Radioactive Zombie recently, "access to early late-game content [Designer's Note] material, too… Now reviews of this content and pieces of concept art (farmed through F.I.R.A.K, the hackers' guild from Fable: The Lost Chapters) have been posted, largely by independent fans of CD Projekt Red and its estimated $140 million budget."

The full topic of discussion between design team member Andrew Prokhorov (designer of MX vs ATV, Cossacks 2) and marketing team member Brandon Koretzky (lead designer for Metro 2033, Fable Legends) is listed below (as reproduced by Radioactive Zombie).
