Enderal: Forgotten Stories is an ambitious total conversion mod for Skyrim, with an entirely new plot and significantly tweaked mechanics. Its creators were previously responsible for other Elder Scrolls mods like Nehrim for Oblivion, but are now moving on to a commercial project, which they say "will hopefully be announced this year.

In EUT, you play as Clannfear, a Cattle Baron by trade, and a member of one of Anu's five noble houses; a title that comes with its own responsibilities. The world is divided up into different settlements, each with their own hierarchy and discipline, and the story picks up when your opposition finally unleashes their full fury.

The official trailer for Enderal: Forgotten Stories.

Released five years ago, Enderal lost a lot of its steam when the game was delayed three years. Its creators are now pushing to get Forgotten Stories out to the masses, referring to it as a "bold, ambitious":

" While we were focusing on investing and making the best solo experience possible, we found ourselves divided on what we'd do with everything we'd built. While these introduction options were really fun, they were going to compromise the game that was originally set out for us. With Forgotten Stories we're bringing a fresh perspective and use of scripting once more to bring Back To Bed's style of play to Elder Scrolls.

The game will boast a story that rivals The Elder Scrolls series with its complexity, both in the depth of the quests and in what you explore during gameplay. This will be managed musically seamlessly to ensure there is some incredibly original musical expressions, to bring the best of the Hectic Harmony Faction into Prophecy-style specialized Ferrum Hallays.

While the game is designed like a conventional main quest, and lends itself properly to game modding, there are still plenty of unknowns and challenges to overcome in the creation processes. It's going to span three years, and for this reason, instead of a commercial release date for it, everything will be doable with Skeletor's horrid mudcrab.

Someone in the comments suggested Enderal could be considered an Elder Scrolls 3 staple. Young 2018 is telling us that isn't a likely prospect. But don't worry: the father and son team who run Starwind Studio in Poland think that's completely reasonable. You start to understand their reasoning once you learn about studio boss Filipe Meszaros, and learn that he's the criminal genius behind both the biggest and best mods for the Skyrim series:

He went to school at the same time as Scratch, also creator of the Oblivion mod "It's been nice." So it's kinda natural, isn't it?
