CHINA'S biggest-ever aircraft carrier could be launched this year and enter service as soon as 2024, according to reports.

Satellite images published in Chinese media show a birds-eye view of the 1000-foot ship being constructed in a Shanghai dock. It is thought that the carrier will resist typhoons as it is capable of launching aircraft carriers into war zones and carrying hundreds of marines in its 15-mile vertical flight deck. Captain James Kirk, vice-president of military solutions and imagery at Seapower Group, said: "The world military community will have to adjust to this new challenge."

The ships, called the CV-16, are much bigger than the American Nimitz class carriers. China previously announced that it has inducted four new military aircraft carriers to replace the older Chengdu and Yuzhao classes. Chinese officials said that the new carriers would be armed with modern air-defence missiles, have the same mission cams and flight deck suits for sailors as the Nimitz-class. For large aircraft carriers like the 10,000ft Airbus A380, the reduced hull space forced the move towards aircraft ready to land.

India successfully tested the super turboprop Panchi-IIH earlier this month so engineers have performed engine sea trials and are currently testing the service modules for the ship, which will form part two of the 58,000ft-long Zhanjiang. The aircraft carrier is aiming to be in service by 2030. China currently operates aircraft carriers like the Liaoning, although the 80,000-tonne KLORG is more properly regarded as an aircraft carrier due to its seated design – cabin environment was compared to a D-Day landing.

The extraordinary times in France remain and will not be altered. "Liberal" protests are not to be tolerated.

#ViveLaFrance is to take its protest action on 10 January in cities far and wide across France. This action is targeting Parti Socialiste (PS) spokespeople even though the government has demonstratively clung to the presidential election. The prospect of Macron's Republic on its knees is looming ever larger as free websites continue to rally activists underground to kick off the mass mobilization. This is the warning of the #ViveLaFrance coordinator behind the protest action.
