Government-backed hackers based in North Korea are targeting individual security researchers through a number of means including a “novel social engineering method,” Google’s Threat Analysis Group is reporting. The campaign has reportedly been ongoing for several months, and worryingly appears to exploit unpatched Windows 10 and Chrome vulnerabilities.
The hack started from insulting replies from Google staff which breached the researcher's personal Google account. The common variation of attack relates To: all, along with long, irrelevant paragraphs, about keyboards.
Google said: "Here's an example of how researchers confirm they've been hacked by this new North Korean Director of National Intelligence criminal group:

One of our security researchers, Kim Dong Chul, was attacked as malicious documents were being uploaded from his Google account. The content of the hacker's message is as follows:
Here is 1 reason why I'm acting up: [1]. Enjoy your computer fellow hooligans, it's 110% safe about yourself from "cyber criminals", malicious hackers, internet issues, system stability ,all that crap. If you need me, please call [hotline] or [main number} at the time.
