Google's image recognition technology is already capable of so much, but the most useful feature is real-time language translation using your smartphone. Now the Google Lens app is capable of performing translations without need of an internet connection.

Starting today, users can download and install the latest Google Lens Activity Rewards Beta for specific apps and websites. The beta feature will first roll out to only a very limited set of developers and publishers, and will come to the Android platform as a free app in the near future.

Google Lens can recognize celebrity pictures on your device, Better deals Netting, one of Google's product reviews blogs, recently featured the "Baidu Lens," which scans pictures to provide critical information on products that provide better overall picture quality. The capability can greatly aid in the key features, such as better photos with better color reproduction, and support for major search engines like YouTube and Facebook.

For links, the camera features can be used for the more common search queries, like "Best Movies In LA," Instagram images, emails and everything in between.

However, there are many reasons why this feature could be a useful tool in our busy lives. These users often may be in unfamiliar places, such as unfamiliar cities, schools and countries, where not everyone speaks the same language. Therefore, helping them with their searches in their specific languages is useful.

Google has already piloted the feature in a handful of front-end websites, including YouTube. As of now, the photo users can share will be automatically marked up in the language where the photo was taken and translated themselves, I assume by an example Google Voice user.

Google has said the main idea behind Google Lens is to combine the functions of its more basic and diffuse "Translate" feature. It hopes to use its experience in image recognition to translate both English and non-English language text.

Images can be tagged on Google's camera app Google.

Proposed without too much hesitation for a while, the semi-automatic translation feature has finally made its debut on Android today. While I can't say anything about the performance and quality of the translation, the new translation feature will certainly help users with a small country and speak-friendly language have the most effective translation of the word with a larger country and language.
