Control: Ultimate Edition, which bundles the original game with all of its post-launch content, will be downloadable for free for PS Plus subscribers starting February 2nd. This free version of Control arrives alongside the game’s next-gen update, which also hits digital storefronts on February 2nd.
The upcoming February 18th patch will include new vehicles, weapons, mods, pieces of equipment along with overall game tweaks and improvements.
Continuing the expansion of the Ultimate Edition's rich armor, gear, vehicles and customization system, February 18th's update begins with a free purchase of one of the two fully unlocked decals. The free decal will not have any effect until played with.
On February 22nd, major additions arrive to the free content in control ’simply draw either numbered blue lines or single colored lines on the mech head where icons are visible†. Two new pieces of gear will purchase for a mere 30 C-Bills and only for PS Plus subscribers via email after completing a short series of quiz/question selections before getting the next piece of armor to play with.
Skirmishing
Playing skirmish matches will not become a mainstream experience for PlayStation Plus subscribers until January 20th when a free round of skirmish play will debut along with the Ultimate Edition's new Ranked War mode, which has been enhanced with a full prestige system. Prior to starting the skirmish match one will need to purchase state of the art equipment before beginning the round. Skirmish play will not be available on PS4 until February 2016. If you would like to play skirmish matches, test the waters before getting involved in Private Matches, enter into Platoon, etc., set up your own dedicated server, the best way to do that is via Ubisoft's Servers coordinator tool.
Same-Day Beta Session
On January 29th, you can weigh in getting to beta start for Control beginning one hour before its retail release. Head here to sign up as always for a chance to grab an early access download of the current beta build. The most compelling aspect of the rest of the beta will be entering the; Health Kit, which will retail for 450 C-Bills. Both classes are included in Battle Royale mode in the beta.
