Microsoft has shared an update regarding the progress of the Windows 10 Team 2020 Update which started to roll out on October 27, 2020.

Surface Hub users can update their devices using Windows Update for Business, Windows Update or Bare metal recovery (BMR) image. Windows 10 Team 2020 Update for Surface Hub features numerous improvements—including a new alarm feature as well as a new device management feature to help ensure that configured connections to an Surface Hub server can update to new Surface Book models.

We found a set of Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) related issues, including problems with DNS resolution, allow you to bypass on the coexistence of IE8 and Back; it won't let you do this with IE9. Should you encounter any remaining issues when updating your devices using Emsisoft Security Scanner, Microsoft recommends:

Resolve the issues and try the updates again using another method. You may need to resolve your issue with a dashboard.

1. Install official Microsoft updates for IE8

Download the official Windows update for IE8:

Install it using GPMC and clean install IE8. You can also click on the Buy button at the top of the download page and choose Get Windows 10 from Microsoft .

After the download completes, perform the following steps:

Save the registry entry, ie8to10x.reg, to a memory stick:

Run GPMC and select 'Add a new feature', then navigate to UserProfile, Compatibility and Installation\Install now, with location: C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\10\User Profile\%systemroot%\software

Open C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Shares\IE8to10x.reg. Open Tools, Registry Editor , from the Start menu and go to File , then Open . By default, this will browse to HKCU named iinternet7.reg. Create a new entry for ie8to10x.reg if it doesn't exist: Press Delete , then click New Registry Item . In Type name , select Registry item name ( ie8to10x.reg ) and click OK . In Destination , type the path to ie8to10x.reg , for example: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\Internet Explorer\Microsoft IE8to10x\

Check that Refresh is set to Disable by clicking on the gridcovered setting to the right of the Open button. Click Other and click Refresh to restart Internet Explorer.
