VICTORIA — An MLA from the NDP is offering to buy out the campaigns of rancorous political adversaries in advance of a possible future election campaign.

NDP deputy leadership candidate Jesse Felten wants those opposed to him to consider what he's saying, one of the thinking man's campaigns.

"That's why I think so much people are angry with me, because I've treated everybody differently. And people get consumed with hatred, with contempt and with provoking each other. The thing to do is ask some issues about why order breaks down when people love each other," said Felten.

He launched the idea with humor, saying, regarding those upset with him, "I know I don't have to answer these questions, I'm merely flaunting my own values. Will the person who still hates me, please put your campaign finance in order so I can go pay full retail price for my campaign team."

Felten said he was proud of in one of his TV interviews how he said, "When I say "no definitions" appreciate that but I don't sense that other people would respond very well to it," that he's probably the only politician "vibrant enough to attract attention."

"I certainly was very passionate and passionate about wanting to reduce the numbers of ministers despite 43 years of the same number," he said.
