Apple is now inviting iOS, iPadOS, and macOS app developers to join its engineers and designers in a special online event that will provide insights into improving app widgets — which are part of iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and macOS Big Sur.

Developers are being invited by email to register for the “Building Great Widget Experiences” event, which will take place live on February 1, 2021. Apple's six-day event "will cover the latest widescreen display technologies, the latest font technologies, and several new sensors," AppleCare VP Aaron Zuckerman notes in the invitation above.

The event, only open to attendees, will take place during Apple Store 12, locating at 580 Taylor Street in San Francisco, during locational testing with those already in attendance.

During the event, Apple engineers and designers will show how to build interactive widget experiences to adapt apps and the user interface to work responsively with iOS devices. click to enlarge

From Tim Cook: Home Remodeling, Dance With React, and More

"iOS 14 KitKat is just one of the major updates to iOS, making good use of JavaScript and leveraging new Android features to keep your apps fast and reliable," Cook says in the Amazon promo video. "KitKat gives developers quicker access to code and the tools they need to innovate new platforms."

Staying true to Apple's traditional description of its OS's version upgrades as points of "genetic evolution," Cook adds that Apple doesn't make any major technological advancements after phones start shipping.

"A big improvement this year is iCloud," Cook said. "With iCloud, 50 percent of your iPhone apps can work seamlessly across more devices — including iPads and Macs. And you can sync contacts, documents, calendar notifications, and all your other settings and settings between all your devices — and with iPhone X, even the tracks can sync."

Apple has dismissed last October's first "iPhone N" model, which was made back in 2016. The handset was announced alongside Apple Watch, later to become two separate devices — a smartwatch and a phone. While Apple hasn't officially announced if "iPhone N" will return or be produced by partners, iCloud-rendered photos show users getting the 4.7-inch model unveiled in September.

My first day at NECA was a bit of a horror. You see, as a teenager I was a big anime nerd living in Japan. One of the most popular public places to go was Colonial. As many on his way up to his first day of school realized, there were often shows set there.

Seeing these shows for the first time made me hold Japanese cartoons hostage to my memory, but I also realized that I had almost no idea what a fuckton of anime represented. When it came time for the colonies to teach my future self about Japanese cartoons, my experience the first day was nothing short of shocking. Students
