"We'll do it eventually ... It's a huge undertaking," Bishop told the Page County News.
A GoFundMe account set up after the toddler's death has been surpassed several times. Despite being the largest fundraiser on the site so far, it only had a few hundred dollars to raise by Wednesday evening.
"I started it because nobody wants to talk about it," Judge Bishop told the Page County News.
But as momentum built behind the effort — Bishop said many people have been visiting his webpage to offer their condolences, and spoke openly about their feelings — news of the victim's death became harder to ignore.
Mayor Ron Thalton said he also began receiving condolences and emails during the day on Tuesday. He's received well over 100 emails, but mostly from Pages in Boone County.
"It has been heartwrenching," Thalton said of the high level of comfort and support.
Apparently the outpouring of accuracy from the heart of Page County Oklahoma is facing the same obstacles as Tulsa's police chief dealing with the outrage the killing of Terence Crutcher provokes.
