The long-awaited Vermintide 2 DLC Chaos Wastes finally got a release date, and it’s just around the corner. The DLC is free to all Vermintide 2 owners, and it constitutes a brand new game mode that continues the ongoing narrative of Vermintide 2 while also introducing a brand new way to play the game.
The Chaos Wastes arcade map will take players through a number of areas of the anarchy prone world of Vermintide 2. There are the main city, the disaster area, the apocalyptic drone core, the orbital lab, and finally through a portal to another dimension of the world. Along with the exclusive map Fomaevia, the DLC unlocks two all new multiplayer modes, Cisco and Rank Target Cortex.
In Cisco, players take on the role of refilling a concave lane as stalwarts of the human resistance. Rank Target, on the other hand, introduces players to the new version of Volt the robot. There are a few tricks players can use to get the best out of the new robot turrets, and it will take creativity to use shape shifting abilities to outmaneuver the mech. In addition, a new bonus for players who use electrification upgrades for the turrets.
While the overall theme of Chaos Wastes is a homage to the game's most famously chaotic skirmish, Chex Quest, the Chaos Wastes multiplayer mod allows players to take their thermal, initiative, reducer, and autogun settings into account. This will vary how characters have their stats boosted. Some characters will have their damage boosted by one, two, or four wrecks. 'Electrification' upgrades such as Pulse and Shock can be used defensively to prevent enemies from getting near the other player, or offensively to clear out turrets. It will be sure to encourage players to take different approaches while playing the Chaos Wastes multiplayer mod.
