Microsoft on Tuesday announced a new 2021 Surface Laptop, called the Surface Laptop 4. The new version adds 11th-gen Intel Core processors, paired with Intel Iris XE graphics. Microsoft also announced that it's committed to Intel-based Zen processors starting in 2017.

The Surface Laptop 4 will feature optional systemd support, Microsoft said in a statement. That means it will, in theory, run operating systems up to Windows 10 of 2017.

Overall, Microsoft plans to make 293 million Surface devices over the next five years, with more than 60 percent of those released overseas. It chose Intel for all orders of future Surface Laptops and Surface Book products and will provide competitive pricing on all power-management options, Nooyi said on Monday when Microsoft unveiled the laptop.

The company behind Windows 10 and the upcoming Windows 10 S also teased operating system features in power management options. About Unattended Updates and automatic OS disk management, Nosire is planning to integrate those features in Windows 10 S post-release.

All upcoming Surface Laptops will be slimmer than current models and have thinner bezels. Support for the new Zen and 14nm FinFET manufacturing process means slim design will be possible on older processors as well.

I do enjoy this program as a glance at some interesting local characters in an industry filled w/ little truly interesting characters. If you enjoy romantic comedies, you should enjoy these guys. I'll be happy to do more online, if you get in touch and question me or give me questions. I should be back to film on Monday for July 4th, either the screen grab or streaming deal at the end of week. Most of my time is spent covering an indie film festival (exact dates TBA if it is a fully fledged festival addy) and another couple of high profile projects in the news sections.
