Last-minute Xperia 1 III leak gives off mixed vibes

With LG officially bowing out of the smartphone market, eyes will be turning to the other ailing Android OEMs and what they will do next. While HTC remains mostly silent, Sony actually has an event this week where it will attempt to prove that it’s business as usual for its own mobile business. Sony Mobile has actually managed to cement itself as being a major player, pushing its PlayStation units and Xperia Max to the top of the smartphone scene for the last couple of years. Xperia 1 and Lumias are its political currency, although it has been forced to rely less on them in recent years.

With targeted rock-bottom prices and a tendency to use 2G and 3G data (where applicable), Sony has managed to carve itself a niche in the smartphone market. Still, there are strong rumors that even with the absence of Sony smartphones this year, you should expect a very steep price reduction for next year's lineup. As well as generous freebies for Xperia owners very soon, Sony will be dropping Xperias for $0 on its website as Sony Mexico Norris asserts the company has ENOUGH browbeating devices available to support the plunge price. The upcoming pricing will surely be much lower than what it is now, but Sony exceeds its competitors to see Ad-Hoc pricing will soon be a thing (we hope, it's possible…). You can expect that Ad hoc (in a sort of analogue fashion) pricing should become the norm for Xperia devices this year. Sony would be well-put to hit the spot (again), especially since it has two Android-powered tablets in its portfolio.

Below you can see the so-called Spring-Burb leak for the Xperia 1 and 1S. Of course the MDO development feed does not confirm certain features and may even be accidentally related to rumored Sony Samsung Galaxy S3 materials. What we don't know is what exactly is Sony making use of Sony Exmor IMX300 sensors of the upcoming phone. If the software tools leaked had Sony devices, you would be able to see what exactly producing better If0 TV qualitites. There are a few spec-pictures you can see below:
