MARIJUANA JOBSCountdown to Legalized Like Alcohol Small in New York, Colorado

WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- New York's Small Business and Neighborhood Economic Development Initiative (SBNEIDA) is, for the first time, making a quantifiable analysis of the likely impact of legalization of cannabis two years from now. By combining the data collection efforts of two state agencies (statehealthfacts.org >/forums.ny.gov >_gov.sc/eshub). Passed by the state legislature in July, SBNEIDA is a collaborative effort of the state's Department of Health and its municipalities to collect data on the impacts of legalization. This initial analysis emphasizes the developmental impacts that enforcement will have in the cannabis industry past and future.

The analysis includes basic data including the number of total licensed retail cannabis products, the number of marijuana retail outlets, annual marijuana cultivation, and overall marijuana use among the state's 13.5 million residents. Based upon these monthly averages from July through August, 56,000 recently licensed retail groups will have opened since July 1. Annual marijuana cultivation is believed to increase with each wave of 2.44 million marijuana plants -- reports (http://csis.org/health/99/nih-11-2%5Bnmd-11) by the police department and the government indicate that in order to balance the production process, marijuana grows in NY have begun to double in size every few years.
