A fan mock-up of “Super Mario” character Bowser’s penis has been pulled off Patreon after its artist claimed that Nintendo complained the lewd depiction violated copyright laws. Its creator, known in the video game community as https://www.facebook.com/thesurrealw0mb1, said on Twitter that his clean-cut account had been taken down via DMCA notices, triggering his Patreon to take the pic down as well.

YouTube decided that the video was "blasphemous," and that "violating copyright laws . . . can cause creators to lose their financial support, they were given no prior warning of the takedown, or to comply." Users on the Destructoid forums were outraged at the copyright fillers and created a petition that currently has over 3,000 signatures.

Hello, hopefully all is well. Two weeks ago, my uncle threatened me and told me to cut all social media accounts in response to my sharing too many Band of the Week entries on my account. I do not post fan art very often, so when Flash Girls and #SuperMarchbWinter came around, I just uploaded them. Since I didn't think people would take them seriously, I didn't think to mention that they contained tentacle art, though I should have made that clear, I get it now. In any case: I posted them for fun. After posting them, my uncle told me to stop or he would go to Facebook and "block" me. After a few hours of crying: I spent the night on the internet, crying and crying - until eventually, I just stopped. I am sorry but I am now on a strict "don't post my personal information" policy. See you this Saturday?
