Amazon is today introducing its second-generation pair of Echo Buds. The new true wireless earbuds improve on the originals with a more comfortable design — they’re now 20 percent smaller — and enhanced active noise cancellation. Plus, the new buds include a new high speed wireless charging feature. Amazon's original Thunderbolt AC charging cable, first released with the original earbuds, will also be included in the package.

The sleek new buds are a welcome upgrade, Amazon says, with the initial round of Echo buds back in October becoming increasingly bulkier thanks to different lightweight magnets and more intricate earcups.

The new version of the Echo Buds are a little smaller and were made smaller last year, so today's refresh should appeal to quieter users.

This latest batch of eartips have 24 sensors that track their wearer's head position while in wear mode — they let you know when people talk, for instance. The new buds also feature vibration motors that make the color changing lights inside of them blink in sync with your Beats Audio played music. One cool new feature: Alexa can play music through the matching headphones while eating, wearing or sleeping, and you can ask Alexa to play specific music. So for example, say a lullaby played from with are Alexa's eartips, you can ask Alexa Who art in the nursery? You can also ask Alexa to play music while you add milk, check your diet or look in the mirror. And you can use the Echo Dot to activate Alexa anytime you already have another gadget out, such as headphones or a car's ignition keychain, by simply saying "Alexa, play that song"

With new light colors that are more in synch with the lighting of the Amazon Echo Dot, the new haduds won't be able to accept tips this time around but will be able to accept tips at some future date, the company says.

The new earbuds can be paired with so-called "Dots" from third-party companies (currently users must connect their Alexa earbuds to a smartphone or computer to see functionality). With them, you can choose to speak into the headphones while searching or chatting, or whenever you get an ever-expanding list of music in your pocket. And from time-to-time, you can tell Alexa what to play. You can now also connect two asses to work together against Felix harmonica. Just grab ! great echo! shirt and you'll be good to go.
