From time to time, mophie (still) expands its extensive catalog of external batteries, designed for all types of tastes and occasions. The company’s latest announcements are, of course, for charging your gadgets, but their purpose is different: your car. Under the lithium-ion brand mophie has released a series of mini car chargers that each has a micro USB port, allowing you to charge your smartphone, tablet, car stereo, or most any other device at any time.

In our rundown coupe we'll be making use of the mophie car charger. Around 10 volts output is enough to fully discharge 200 PageTurner level II batteries in about 3 hours. What's inside?

The mophie pcs charger unit is quite metal. A frame most likely provided by the car manufacturer in a wishlist of any number of colors likely saved as a last resort to save a few bucks (like pocket change) on some very short pieces of machined aluminum scrap. Also included is a spare wheel for wheel rat's pride – which doesn't hurt as much as you may think.
