A giant deep-sea, a huge marine relative of the common woodlouse or roly-poly, has been discovered in the Gulf of Mexico.

Measuring more than 10 inches long, the isopod, a new species, is 25 times bigger than its little cousin.

In an evolutionary sense, the researchers believe it represents the end part to a wide evolutionary lifespan for roly-polys in the Pacific zone.
